In mid-July, the seat ring of the No. 1 unit of Hubei Pankou Pumped Storage Power Station was successfully lifted into place under the highly efficient operation of ZOOMLION's 450-ton crawler crane. The successful completion of this lifting operation is not only an important milestone in the construction of the project, but also fully demonstrates ZOOMLION's comprehensive strength in the field of lifting oversized components.



The seat ring lifted this time is the core embedded part of the pumped storage unit, with a maximum slewing diameter of more than 13 meters, divided into two flaps for transportation, with the weight of a single flap being 92 and 85 tons respectively, and the total weight of a single unit being 177 tons, with an external diameter of 10.1 meters and a height of 3.14 meters, which is one of the largest and highest-weight seat ring components in the domestic pumped storage power stations at present. As a key structural component of the hydraulic turbine, the seat ring plays the role of fixing and supporting the guide vanes, and its lifting precision is directly related to the operation efficiency and stability of the subsequent units, so the construction requirements are extremely strict.

As a key energy project during the “14th Five-Year Plan” period of the country, Pankou Pumped Storage Power Station has great challenges in the overall design of the project. Especially in the lifting stage of the seat ring, the construction party faced many complicated conditions: the working space in the plant was narrow, the peripheral equipments were dense, and the lifting paths were restricted, in addition to the cross-promotion of other operations, which resulted in high on-site safety risks and high technical requirements. High safety risk and high technical requirements.

After several rounds of on-site investigation and program demonstration, the project finally selected ZOOMLION ZCC4500 crawler crane as the main crane. The equipment has strong lifting capacity, flexible configuration options and excellent lifting stability, and can complete large-tonnage high-precision lifting in limited space. The operation adopts the program of “two shifts, split-flap lifting”, which ensures that the seat ring is steadily, safely and accurately loaded into the pit.

Since the start of the lifting operation on July 14, ZOOMLION equipment completed the high-quality lifting of the seat rings of two units in only three days, refreshing the on-site construction progress and obtaining the unanimous approval of the owner and the construction party.
