Generally speaking, the release bearing of forklift truck clutch is one of the high failure parts due to its frequent work. Among the common faults of forklift trucks, the release bearing damage accounts for a relatively large proportion. If the operation is standardized and properly maintained, the bearing can be used for about 3 months, but it usually still needs to be replaced during mid-repair. If the driver's technical level is low, the release bearing may even be damaged once a month, and it is easy to damage the release lever, clutch plate and other parts, increasing the maintenance cost.

In addition to improper operation, the main cause of frequent damage to the release bearing is poor lubrication. Although the company has stipulated daily oil injection for the release bearing, but the operation is cumbersome, coupled with the high temperature generated by the engine operation through the transmission to the bearings, coupled with the bearings themselves, high-speed operation of the heat, so that it is difficult to lubricate the oil to be retained in a high-temperature environment, resulting in the deterioration of the lubrication conditions, the bearings in the long term in the high-temperature, dry friction state, naturally prone to damage.

In order to improve the lubrication condition, an attempt was made to immerse the bearing in heated grease and let it penetrate into the bearing. Although the grease could fill the bearing space, the high-temperature treatment damaged its structure, leading to a decline in lubrication performance, the effect was not satisfactory, and the bearing life was not significantly extended. Subsequently tried to use a pointed grease gun to inject grease directly into the bearings, the actual vehicle testing, the method significantly extends the life of the bearings, the effect is good, but the operation is complex, difficult to popularize.

For this reason, the company continues to explore the lubrication replenishment method without dismantling the engine. Taking the lead in the 475C engine test success, and then in the 480, 492 and other models to promote, the effect is unanimously good. After many practice and improvement, finally summarized a set of simple and practical oil injection process:

 

First, oil injection method without engine disassembly:

· Open the clutch cover, check the wear of the release bearing, if it is not damaged or not over the limit, you can continue to use it.

· Remove the clutch pedal, adjust the connecting rod pin, so that the release bearing and its seat back to the most end position.

· Use a pointed grease gun to fill with grease from the grease hole in the bearing housing until the bearing appears to be overflowing.

· Gently rotate the bearing and refill it again, repeating several times to ensure even oil spillage around the bearing.

· If there is resistance to rotation of the bearing, it means that the inside has been filled with grease.

· Clean up the excess grease and restore the parts.

 

Second, the engine disassembled oiling method:

Partially disassemble the engine to expose the separation bearing and seat assembly. Use a pointed grease gun to inject grease from a small hole below the inner ring of the bearing seat, wait for the grease to overflow and rotate the bearing so that it can be evenly lubricated in one circle, and then the operation can be completed.

The above method not only significantly improves the lubrication effect of the separation bearing, but also effectively extends the service life, reduces the maintenance frequency and operation interruption time, and improves the efficiency and reliability of the forklift truck.
